Cupping
Cupping involves using glass or plastic cups to relieve stagnation and bring toxins to the surface of the body, where they can more easily leave the body. Cupping dilates all of the tiny vessels in the local area where the cups are placed, loosening tight fascia and muscle tissue, creating increased circulation.
This increase of micro-circulation and dilation of tiny blood vessels allows metabolic wastes like lactic acid to leave the local area- and to eventually leave the body, thereby expediting the healing process.
Cupping is used for a variety of conditions. In our clinic it is most commonly used for back & neck pain.
Many people find cupping very pleasant and some even have said that they prefer it to massage.
